It was QUITE the year and we just feel so blessed. Thanks to everyone! Im looking forward to blogging many more weddings this year! Can't wait :)

Shirley + Andrew's adorable Santa Monica engagement session ended our year with twinkling lights!

This past year was absolutely incredible. Words cannot express our adventures around the world in 2011. We had the incredible opportunity to photograph beautiful weddings here in Arizona but also traveled to, California, New York, Texas, Chicago, Montana, Seattle, Indiana, and the absolute furthest was Sydney Australia. This was definitely a year of a lifetime and I cannot be more thankful to all the bride and grooms who trusted us to document their wedding day. It was indeed a year of adventures and we cannot wait to see whats to come in 2012!

I wanted to highlight below my favorite weddings and engagements (It's a long post so prepare yourselves :) in this past year. Some weddings we did not feature on our blog for different reasons but these are the ones I can show you :)

On a different note, I have been SO slow to blog. After this year came to a close I needed to just breathe. Not only does traveling wear you down but photographing and editing definitely wears you down if you don't take time to relax in between. I wasn't super good about relaxing so as the year came to a close, I found the BEST reason to relax. We found out that were HAVING A BABY!!!! Yep, I'M PREGNANT! We couldn't be more excited about this news and it couldn't have been better timing. God knew.... We didn't book a single thing till March and IM SO glad because I have been SO sick. Whoever made the statement "morning sickness" didn't account for those who are are sick ALL day long. I know its worth it in the end, I just can't wait till I feel back to normal and can get back to work. So thats why I've been MIA on blogging!

Also, My new blog-site is in the works with the awesome guys from Infinet Design. I just got my mock preview from them and I am IN LOVE with what I saw. Cannot wait to show everyone.

A special thanks to everyone we worked with this past year and to every vendor that worked with us behind the scenes. You guys rock.

Johnny + Kyra was one of my favorites in San Diego!

Britney + David's engagement session in Griffith Park was so much fun with little Haribo!

Laurie + Mike in Hermosa Beach.

Susan + Ian in Laguna Beach. Two of the most smiley people I know...

Laurie + Mike's beautiful Vintage backyard wedding. STUNNING.

Karen + John's Dc Ranch wedding.

Britney + David were married in Palm Desert California. Could these two be anymore beautiful?!

Sima + Alex's super fun colorful engagement session in Phoenix.

And of course Sima + Alex's beautiful wedding at the Hyatt at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale.

Brittany + Matt's gorgeous Chicago engagement session. These two are just a dream to photograph... AND so is this location! love.

We had a BLAST walking the streets of New York City for Tara + Lee's engagement session. Even though we were there for the INSANE heat wave, it was so worth it :)

One of my FAVORITE highlights of the year was flying the Sydney Australia to photograph two of the absolute sweetest most beautiful people for their engagement session AND wedding day. What a treat!
It was so amazing working with Nam + Ngan!

I had to at least feature a photo from each location because they were honestly BEAUTIFUL.

And a beautiful beach at sunset. Can it get any better?!

Yep... the wedding day was quite spectacular! The Wedding day took place at the beautiful Dolton House on the Sydney Harbor.

One good looking bridal party!

Sonah + Brad's Seattle engagement shoot was SO much fun to shoot. Almost like shooting in the woods of Twilight. Almost ;)

One of my absolute favorite sessions was at the Griffith Observatory. Sarah + Flo are two of the most beautiful people I know inside and out.

Only here will you get an amazing sunset in Los Angeles! Totally pure and clear of pollution.. :)

Ill never forget Tara + Lee's weekend of activities. It was quite an experience and we had SO much fun.

The actual wedding day was SO colorful and beautiful to shoot.

One beautiful group of girls!

Indian weddings have SO much beautiful culture and I just HAD to include all the fun dancing.

]]> Paradise Valley Country Club : Sarah + Luis http://www.stephaniefayblog.com/index.cfm?postID=308 http://www.stephaniefayblog.com/index.cfm?postID=308 Sat, 17 Dec 2011 18:11:00 GMT engagement session. And their adorable fluffy dog Rico? Well, they just tied the knot at the Paradise Valley Country Club in Scottsdale and I couldn't be more thrilled for them. Sarah and Luis are two wonderful people. We have gotten to know Sarah and Luis since we met to talk about wedding photography and I can honestly say, we feel so grateful to have met such wonderful new friends.

The love that Sarah and Luis share is extremely contagious. I absolutely loved watching them as they had their first look with each other. Sarah stepped out of the car already in tears as she knew she would soon see Luis. I couldn't help but want to hug her because I had immediate empathy for her outward love towards Luis. It was one of the sweetest moments we have witnessed all year.

Not only was the first look sweet, but the ceremony was a definite tear jerker. It was scheduled to rain all day on Saturday and right as the ceremony began to approach, it was looking its worst. Sarah and Luis decided that they would defeat the clouds and get married without a tent in front of Camelback mountain. As Sarah and Luis stood at the alter, a patch of blue sky separated the dark clouds from the light and it was stunning. God had his hand over the ceremony and it was a beautiful moment. The words Sarah and Luis exchanged at the alter brought me to tears and the love between these two was present everywhere. I couldn't be more thrilled for them.

Sarah and Luis, you both are absolutely beautiful from the inside out and we feel so honored to have witnessed such a genuine ceremony. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of it. To see a slideshow of the rest of the day, click HERE

A special thanks to Paradise Valley Country Club for being so accomodating.
To Wendell Florist for the beautiful floral designs.
To Zomei Video Productions for always being so plesant to work with!
And last but not least to Some Like it Classic. Amina is one special gal and she handled the rain situation like a gem. :)

One of the sweetest moments I have witnessed at a first look.

The view from the country club is GORGEOUS.

The sun peeked out for a few moments while taking Sarah's portraits. Sarah you are beautiful.

Dad hadn't seen Sarah yet and as we were taking photos, they took a moment to see each other for the first time. Such a beautiful moment. One of my favorite images from the day.

Good looking bridal parties....

Go away dark clouds! :)

Laura + Jeremy : Los Angeles Union Station http://www.stephaniefayblog.com/index.cfm?postID=307 http://www.stephaniefayblog.com/index.cfm?postID=307 Mon, 12 Dec 2011 14:29:00 GMT
We decided to start the engagement shoot at Los Angeles Union Station on Thanksgiving Day weekend. Surprisingly, the crowds were calm and we had the best time roaming the historic station.

After we left the station, we headed to my families historic barn in Menifee. My father-in-law collects and restores gorgeous old vintage cars that are stored at the Motte Historical Museum . They were kind enough to allow us to use these beautiful cars as our backdrop and I couldn't have been more excited to shoot here. We felt this would be a great fit for this old hollywood shoot. And boy... was it great! We then ended the shoot in a soft field with the shiny green Auburn. Laura and Jeremy, you two are the sweetest people and we feel blessed to have worked with you guys. We cannot WAIT for your wedding next spring. I have no doubt it will be beautiful! To see a slideshow, click HERE.

The light coming through the windows was gorgeous.

Love.

Laura, you are beautiful.

The Motte Museum is my new favorite place to shoot! Lucky me :)

Laura and Jeremy are so natural in front of the camera. It's obvious they are smitten by each other!

We cruised down the charming streets of Santa Monica and stopped at the quaint corners that caught our eye. Shirley and Andrew are two of the kindest most adorable people we know. They are not only beautiful people, but they are sweet, thoughtful, and undoubtly in love with each other.

We headed to the Santa Monica Pier to end the shoot at sunset and it couldn't have been a more spectacular. WOW. We ended the evening in the sand with a game of scrabble and bright christmas lights. Couldn't be more in love with this shoot!

Shirley and Andrew, THANK YOU for choosing us as your wedding photographers! We feel so grateful to be working with such genuine people. We adore you. To see a slideshow of the rest of the day, click HERE.

Malibu Engagement Session : Chandis + Steven http://www.stephaniefayblog.com/index.cfm?postID=305 http://www.stephaniefayblog.com/index.cfm?postID=305 Sun, 04 Dec 2011 20:00:00 GMT
Soon after, I received the sweetest e-mail from the newly minted fiance Steven. I knew right away Steven was SO kind and that his fiance Chandis would be just as sweet as he is.

Steven and Chandis both attend Pepperdine University and will be graduating this May. Malibu is a special place for the both of them so we met there for their engagement session. Chandis mentioned that she always saw a small private vineyard that caught her eye on the way home from church. We arranged to photograph there and couldn't believe the views when we finally arrived. OH.MY.GOODNESS it was drop dead gorgeous! Chandis and Steven are the kind of people you could spend all day with. You can tell immediately they are extremely genuine people who love with their whole hearts. I am so excited to be a part of their wedding next year in Idaho! I have no doubt it will be a beautiful day. To see a slideshow of the rest of the day, click HERE.

When the sun hit the leaves, they looked almost like a perfect golden color.

You both are incredibly beautiful people. WOW.

GORGEOUS.

Chandis, you are beautiful.

Chandis and Steven fell in love in Italy. Could they be any more adorable?!

This was the view of the hills behind the vineyard. Another gorgeous vineyard graces the mountains close by. Oh how I love southern California sunsets!

Tempe Center of the Arts Wedding : Anya + Brandon http://www.stephaniefayblog.com/index.cfm?postID=304 http://www.stephaniefayblog.com/index.cfm?postID=304 Fri, 02 Dec 2011 14:00:00 GMT Tempe Center of the Arts just a few weeks ago. I met Anya last year at Coffee Bean to talk wedding photography. The second we sat down, I absolutely adored Anya. We talked about life, school, and of course all the fun details of the wedding day. Anya mentioned that she would be making all the centerpieces out of paper. My smile immediately extended from ear to ear when I heard the entire wedding would be adorned with Anya's beautiful design through paper.

I finally met Brandon at the engagement session where we photographed them downtown. The two of them are SO natural in front of the camera and it was so evident these two are madly in love with each other. Anya just finished law school, passed the bar exam and is going to be a lawyer to defend art. Every time I have seen Anya, she is always smiling and is honestly one of the sweetest gals around. It's no surprise that Brandon is just as kind and down to earth as she is.

Anya and Brandon chose Tempe Center of the Arts as their wedding venue and it couldn't have been a more perfect venue for them. The paper details fit this venue like a glove. It was a cloudy day and I couldn't have been more in love with photographing these two HAPPY people around the beautiful architecture TCA. Anya and Brandon, thank you for choosing Stephen and I as your wedding photographers. The both of you are such beautiful people inside and out and you exude such beautiful joy to the people around you.

Brandon right before seeing his beautiful bride.

Anya and Brandon's first look was seriously adorable.

I love this... checking out their outfits at the same time. too cute.

Anya, you are seriously STUNNING.

Anya's hand crafted white paper bouquet. AWESOME.

Anya and her bridesmaids hand crafted these beautiful bouquets. Anya had time to go to law school, pass the bar exam and craft PAPER FLOWERS?! You are officially the most amazing bride EVER.

I love this photo of Anya and her mom smiling at each other right before she meets Brandon at the alter. It looks as though her mom is just as excited as she is. Adorable.

This photo of Anya's Dad hugging her just made me melt. Such a memorable moment.

I love the location they chose to be married at. It was a cloudy day so everything was so beautiful and soft.

Anya started tearing up during the vows and... so did I :)

The amazing details at the reception. I LOVED their sign in board. It was a picture cut into squares where the guests could write their messages on the back of each square.

So creative...

Even the champagne glasses had little paper butterflies on them!

Anya changed into one of the CUTEST second dresses I have ever seen. She looked dazzling in her short dress!

Kari and Jared love to travel...

Two of the SWEETEST people EVER under the Santa Monica pier? Yes please :) This sweet shoot with Shirley and Andrew was an absolute blast. Especially, when we pulled out the Christmas lights!

And last but not least... Laura and Jeremy's old hollywood shoot. Union station, a room full of vintage cars and a beautiful field to end the day at sunset. LOVE.

The Biltmore Wedding : Milessa + Jed http://www.stephaniefayblog.com/index.cfm?postID=300 http://www.stephaniefayblog.com/index.cfm?postID=300 Wed, 23 Nov 2011 20:00:00 GMT
As the wedding approached, I have gotten to know these two a bit beyond the photo shoots. I can honestly say these two are some of the sweetest people I have ever met. They are down to earth, genuine and SO drop dead gorgeous together. I have watched them interact both in front of the camera and in "real life" and it is so obvious that they are completely smitten with each other.

Jed and Milessa, I feel so blessed to have met you. Words cannot describe how incredible your wedding day was and your friends and family made us feel like we were actually a guest at the wedding. Thank you for your kind sweet hearts and your pure generosity. We feel so undeserving to have worked with such amazing people!

A special thanks to Victoria Canada and her team for doing an INCREDIBLE job planning this wedding. It is always a pleasure working with you and your team.
To the Arizona Biltmore for being absolutely impeccable.
To Petal Pusher for doing a gorgeous job on all the flowers
and to Lomaland Productions for being so awesome to work with!

Milessa wrapped her bouquet in pieces of her mother and mother-in-laws wedding dress.

Their first look was adorable. Seldomly do I cry behind the camera but this time I definitely did!

SO SO sweet.

Milessa, you are GORGEOUS.

One fun group of guys!

Im a bit in love with these soft adorable details :)

One GORGEOUS group of girls...

Every other chair had an adorable hankie.

And one heck of an awesome bridal party.

Everyone was given a cup of good smelling dried flowers to toss at the bride and groom after leaving the alter.

One of the sweetest ceremonies EVER.

I LOVED this photo Stephen snapped while watching Jed and Milessa hug in between their family and friends right after being announced husband and wife.

I absolutely adore these next two photos.....

I LOVE the soft flower palette.

Im in LOVE with this cake by Sedona Cake Couture

Jed and Milessa had an elegant coordinated first dance. AH-MAZING.
